Our Story

When the knight Vincenzo returned to his hometown of Linguaglossa from America, over a century ago, he had no doubt: his future would be strongly tied to Mount Etna. Thus, with the significant fortune he had made overseas, he decided to invest in purchasing land to start his own agricultural business. Today, Neri Agricola extends over a total area of 9 hectares, with 5 hectares dedicated to vineyards and 4 hectares to olive groves, between the districts of Arrigo and Borrigliona, at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level, in a territory characterized by complex features due to its volcanic soil with an important mineral component. The Neri family, now in its fourth generation, has remained faithful to the project of their great-grandfather, passing down from father to son the love for these volcanic, black, and fertile lands, even in the methods of land treatment.

In respect for the territory, indeed, it was chosen to implement non-intensive organic farming, as well as to maintain the manual harvesting of grapes and olives, as it was done in the past.

In these unique places, olive trees of the local variety Nocellara dell'Etna and indigenous red grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, as well as white grape varieties such as Carricante and Catarratto, are cultivated. The extra virgin olive oil produced is characterized by a balanced stamp and a refined fruity aroma. The two wines obtained from the estate's grapes, Etna Rosso DOC and Etna Bianco DOC, express the characteristics of the great Etna terroir through a fine and elegant bouquet and a fresh, intense, and harmonious taste, enriched by pleasant mineral notes.
